This was very good in how it was written...love how he starts at his childhood and works it into adulthood. A determined man to make his dreams come true. A inspiration to all those that think they can't, Mr. Pray proves you can. I maybe partial but if I was a reader not knowing his background I would enjoy it. Mr. Pray filled in some of the empty holes to my family history. Stories I heard as a child by my grandmother became more hilarious and vivid. The Washburn-Pray family has a way of telling life stories that capture your interest. His Aunt Bess and Uncle John are my great-grandparents and I heard some of these stories from my grandmother so it made the reading extra special for my father and I.Product details

I could not put this book down! A friend recommended it to me and I have to say I am so glad he did. From the first page, I was captivated with the down to earth sense of humor of Glenn Pray. His quick wit and fortitude are truly an inspiration. Wow! He really did work his guardian angel to death! Mostly it is funny but there are a few sad parts and even a mystery about his prototype car being stolen. Very very entertaining read! My wife read it too and loved it as much as I did. Now my twelve year old daughter is reading it and wants to see a movie with Johnny Depp as Glenn Pray.
Glenn Pray's brother, Walter (Jack) Pray, was my father. We moved from Holdenville to Broken Arrow in 1964 to participate in my uncle's dream. My father's contributions to Glenn's enterprises were profound and a source of pride to the family. I heard many of the incidents in this book directly from my father and uncle. I was present for many of them, and was a minor employee and frequent visitor at the factories for decades. Glenn Pray overcame great adversity and worked tirelessly to achieve his dream. He accomplished what few others have ever done. Seldom does one read a book filled with such candor and honesty. Glenn is a natural raconteur and his ability to recall specific situations is legendary. This book will make you laugh as you share in Glenn's adventures, losses, and triumphs. Loved this book! My husband worked for Glen during the early years in Broken Arrow. I met Glen & he is a very charming & interesting man. Would recommend this book highly!
This is one of those books that you can't hardly stop reading until you are finished. It is well written and truly a great American story that needed to be told. Highly recommended.
This book is a true story about Glenn from his early childhood to his success of owning his own car company. He has many humorous and true stories about his life along with his failures and successes. Knowing Glenn was one of my outstanding moments in my life. Still I didn't know his real true background. Couldn't put the book down.
It is well written story of a man who had lots of talent, who overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles, and who had a passion in both life, and in Cord & Auburn automobiles. A book full of amusing anecdotes, and indeed a story of the American Spirit. Nicely illustrated in b&w, too. I would recommend it.
